South Africa is in Trump's sights

US President Donald Trump has vowed to cut off all financial aid to South Africa. He wrote on his page on the social network "Truth" that the country "is seizing land and mistreating some classes."

Trump did not specify what he was talking about but said that there are widespread human rights violations in South Africa, which the United States will not tolerate.

The South African authorities have not yet commented officially on Trump's statement.

Reuters reports, citing the latest US government data, that the total amount of American aid to South Africa in 2023 was about $440 million.
