Georgia suspends work in PACE: Kobakhidze

“If the injustice, the wrong approach, and the problems that we see in the European bureaucracy end, we will resume our work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, although at this stage we do not see the point in doing so,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the head of government, the situation in the European bureaucracy is tough.

“Nothing has a price, not even the truth. Look at how absurd the notes included in the resolution approved by about 140 votes were. Therefore, in the conditions of such injustice and such problems, our work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has lost its meaning, and, therefore, we have made an unalternative decision to stop work. If the injustice, the wrong approach, and the problems in the European bureaucracy end, naturally, we will resume our work, although we do not see the point at this stage,” said the Prime Minister.
