The Bundestag has voted in favor of a proposal by the opposition coalition, the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU), to impose permanent border controls.
The resolution, dubbed the "Five-Point Plan," calls for strengthening border controls, deporting illegal immigrants, and banning the entry of undocumented migrants.
