US President Donald Trump said he was fully informed about the accident at Reagan National Airport. He wrote on his Truth Social website:
"The plane was on a regular runway at the airport. The helicopter had been flying in the plane's direction for a long time. The sky was clear, and the lights on the plane were on; why didn't the helicopter climb, descend, or turn? Why didn't the control tower tell the helicopter what to do? This is a bad situation that should have been prevented. Not good," Trump wrote.
