US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas.
Secretary Rubio stressed the need to strengthen transatlantic security and called on Europe to increase defense spending and address China's challenges.
The Secretary also welcomed the extension of EU sanctions against Russia for its aggression in Ukraine.
