In Serbia, protesters, mostly students, blocked the capital's main transport hub, Avtokomanda, on Monday. Local media reported that the protesters had promised to block the highway for 24 hours.
The reason for this was the tragedy in Novi Sad, where 14 people died when the roof of a train station collapsed last November. Since then, anti-government protests have been held in Syria, demanding punishment for the perpetrators (and this even though police have long detained several suspects, including the former Minister of Urban Development).
According to Serbian President Vučić, these actions are financed from abroad and aim to overthrow the legitimate government. The head of state promised that the republic's authorities would resolutely resist this, using all permissible and democratic means.
At the moment, it is reported that the president has promised to change the composition of the government and soon resign will be presented by Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.
