"Mona Lisa" will be moved to a separate hall

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting “Mona Lisa” (“La Gioconda”) will be moved to a separate room at the Louvre with a separate entrance from the rest of the exhibition.

“The Mona Lisa will be displayed in a separate room with a separate entrance, independent of the rest of the Louvre exhibition,” Macron said during a meeting on the restoration plans for the famous museum.

French Culture Minister Rachida Dati recently announced that ticket prices for visitors to the Louvre in Paris from countries outside the European Union could increase from January 1, 2026.
