Displaced Palestinians have begun returning to the northern Gaza Strip, the country's interior ministry said. Photos posted on social media showed thousands of people moving along dusty roads devastated by more than a year of Israeli airstrikes.
"Displaced Palestinians have begun returning to the northern Gaza Strip via the Al-Rashid road and the western side of the Netzarim checkpoint," an interior ministry official told AFP.
