Trump calls for Palestinians to be relocated to Egypt and Jordan

US President Donald Trump told reporters on Air Force One Saturday that he wants Jordan and Egypt to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to their territory “on a temporary or long-term basis,” Axios reported.

Trump spoke by phone with Jordanian King Abdullah on Saturday. The king “emphasized the key role of the United States in encouraging all parties to work towards achieving peace, security, and stability in the region for all,” the Jordanian royal court said in a statement.

Trump said they discussed the fate of the millions of Palestinians living in Jordan, as well as the possibility of moving there from Gaza.

He added that he plans to speak with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday and ask him to accept Palestinians from Gaza.
