Israel will not allow Palestinians to return to northern Gaza until Arbel Yehud is released

Israel will not allow Palestinians to return to northern Gaza until Hamas arranges for the release of female hostage Arbel Yehud.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced this.

“Israel today took four female hostage soldiers and will release prisoners in exchange for them, by the deal. Under the agreement, Israel will not allow Gazans to cross into the northern Gaza Strip until an agreement is reached on the release of civilian Arbel Yehud, who was to be released today,” the statement said.

Under the agreement, Israel was to withdraw from the northern half of the corridor on the seventh day of the ceasefire so that Palestinians could return to the north of Gaza via the coastal road.
