Latin American migrant offices closed. CBS News

The Trump administration is closing Latin American processing offices that the Biden administration created to provide legal immigration opportunities for migrants and discourage them from crossing the southern border illegally, CBS News reported, citing internal government documents it obtained.

The offices, set up in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Guatemala, allowed some migrants living in or transiting through those countries to apply for programs that would enable them to enter the United States legally.

Internal State Department documents say the Trump administration is closing these locations.
