US President Donald Trump said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that he wants to negotiate with Russia and China to reduce their nuclear weapons.
Referring to the negotiations during his first presidency, Trump said that he discussed reducing nuclear arsenals with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and China wanted to participate.
"And I can tell you that President Putin wanted to do it; he and I wanted to do it. We had a good conversation with China, and they would get involved. It would be incredible for the planet," he said.
According to Trump, at the moment, China has far fewer nuclear weapons than the United States and Russia.
"But at some point, in the next four to five years, they will," he added.
The United States and Russia together possess about 90 percent of all nuclear weapons in the world.
