Rubio and Fidan discussed the importance of establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan

The State Department said in a statement that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke by phone with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The Secretary and the Foreign Minister discussed the importance of establishing a lasting and dignified peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The importance of the US-Turkey relationship, Turkey’s role as a key NATO ally, and regional shared interests were also reaffirmed.
Secretary Rubio stressed the need for a comprehensive transition in Syria that ensures that a new government does not allow Syria to become a source of international terrorism and that foreign actors are prevented from exploiting the transition in Syria for their purposes.
