In an interview with Bloomberg, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky explained how many peacekeepers Ukraine needs and what it depends on.
"I did not say that we need 200 thousand. The journalist asked about 200 thousand; I said it could be more or less. What does it depend on? I will remember again what army should be in Ukraine if we are not in NATO. Because if there is no other security union for Ukraine, and if we talk about a million-strong army that can stop Putin's army, and if we say that there is no way to keep such an army. Europe and the United States say, let's reduce it, then if we let's reduce it by 200, 300, 500 thousand, we need other troops instead. By the amount by which we reduced it", the president clarified.
