The new US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, emphasized Washington's continued support for Israel during a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as stated by the US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
Rubio noted that supporting Israel is President Donald Trump's number one priority.
Rubio congratulated Netanyahu on "Israel's success in the fight against Hamas and Hezbollah" and promised to continue efforts to free all prisoners in Gaza.
In addition, the parties discussed Iran's threats and agreed to continue working together to face these challenges.
