Reuters reported that US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he plans to impose tariffs on the European Union and is considering a 10% tariff on Chinese imports because fentanyl is sent from China to the US via Mexico and Canada.
He announced this in a conversation with reporters at the White House one day after assuming the post of president.
Trump noted that the EU and other countries also have troubling trade surpluses with the US.
"The European Union is evil for us," he said, "that's why they will be subject to customs duties." That's the only way... to get justice.''
