"Trump is right," the EU is going to increase defense spending

The EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, spoke at a conference in Brussels about the structure's security challenges and Trump's statements that EU countries should start spending more on their security.

"President Trump is right when he says we are not spending enough. It's time to invest. The United States is our strongest ally and should remain so.

The EU's message to the USA is clear. We must do more for our defense and bear our fair share of responsibility for Europe's security," he declared.

After 2022, EU countries increased their military budgets. But officials admit they will have to go further to match Moscow's massive military might.

"Russia is a real threat to our security and will be until we invest enough in our defense," said Kallas, the former Prime Minister of Estonia.

"Many of our national intelligence services provide us with information that Russia can check the self-defense readiness of the EU in 3-5 years. Who else are we waiting for?" Kallas emphasized.
