Marco Rubio, the candidate of US President-elect Donald Trump for the position of Secretary of State, called the scenario of returning all territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia "unrealistic."
"Ukraine's problem is not that the finances are running out, but that the Ukrainians are running out. What Putin has done is unacceptable, but this war must end. It is important that everyone is forced to make concessions to Russia, but also Ukraine," Rubio said during the Senate hearing.
According to him, Putin's goal now is to effectively impose neutrality on Ukraine, modernize the army, and attack again in 4-5 years.
"It is important that the Ukrainians have leverage, but they also need to make concessions to reach this agreement," he added.
