Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the country will never become the 51st US state.
"There is not the slightest possibility that Canada will become part of the USA," the head of the government wrote in X.
According to him, both peoples benefit from their countries' being "each other's biggest partners in trade and security."
Earlier, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that many Canadians allegedly favor their country becoming the 51st US state. He expressed the opinion that such an association will not only bring economic stability to Canada but also protect it from external threats, which, according to Trump, come from "Russian and Chinese ships."
