The foreign ministers of France and Germany, Jean Noel-Baro and Annalena Berbock, arrived in Damascus, the capital of Syria.
"Negotiations in Damascus aim to contribute to the peaceful transfer of power, which guarantees the rights of all Syrians.
France and Germany support the people of Syria in all its diversity. We want to contribute to the peaceful transition of power in Syria, which will serve the interests of the Syrians and regional stability," said the French Foreign Minister.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, in turn, announced that it was time for Russia to leave its military bases in Syria.
