Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a tense conversation at the EAEU summit.
Belarus will preside over EAEU bodies in 2025. During his speech, Lukashenko proposed holding the next summit in Minsk at the end of May.
Before giving Pashinyan the right to speak, the President of Belarus made a statement and apologized to Pashinyan, noting that it does not refer to the Prime Minister of Armenia. "I would ask our participants that if this union is interesting to them, they should not participate in it through TV and not explain to us from there how it should be. Let's cooperate. Nikol Vovaevich, this does not concern you. We know that you are a little sick," the president mentioned to Belarus, to which Nikol Pashinyan immediately responded, noting that Armenia will participate remotely in the session in Minsk.
Lukashenko asked why this decision was made and offered to help buy tickets.
Pashinyan mentioned that he had previously voiced his decision and made a speech about it. Lukashenko replied, "We will consider your application."
Pashinyan smiled. "You cannot observe because it is not subject to observation."
