After monetization, Pavel Durov announced that Telegram became profitable for the first time in three years.
According to the messenger's founder, the number of Telegram Premium users exceeded 12 million in 2024.
"As a result, Telegram's total revenue in 2024 has exceeded one billion dollars, and we close the year with more than $500 million in cash reserves, excluding crypto assets," Durov wrote on his channel.
In his opinion, Telegram's example shows that "social networks can achieve financial stability while remaining independent and respecting the rights of users."
