The US Secretary of State called on Americans to leave Belarus immediately and prepare for emergencies.
Americans in Belarus have been advised to avoid mass gatherings, limit social media activity, and review the use of electronic devices.
The State Department also warns of possible closures of border crossings with Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, and Ukraine and recommends registering with the STEP system for emergency communications.
