The USA imposed sanctions on the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia

The US Treasury Department reports that the USA imposed sanctions on the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri, and the Deputy Director of the Department of Special Tasks, Mirza Kezevadze.

The reason is the violence during the protests related to adopting the "Foreign Influence" law, which was connivanced by opposition leaders and activists and, according to the US, coordinated by Gomelauri and Kezevadze.

According to the US Treasury Department, Gomelauri and Kezevadze committed serious human rights violations during their tenure.
