US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated that over the past 20 years, the US has tried to achieve a change of power in Iran, but these attempts have not ended successfully.
"Most of Iran expects a better future for their country. There is no doubt that the future will be brighter for everyone. A question arises. What can we do to achieve that goal, if at all?
Over the past 20 years, our attempts to achieve regime change in Iran have not been so successful," Blinken said.
According to him, it is necessary to focus on policy change and prevent actions that threaten US interests and values. "Our attempts to change the regime have not been very successful. However, we continue to work, supporting those people inside Iran who want a different future for their country," he said.
Blinken noted that the threats from Iran are fundamental for the United States, and efforts should be continued to support the supporters of democracy and human rights in Iran. When more people realize that the current system does not provide their desired future, change will become inevitable," he concluded.
