US President Joe Biden's administration will allocate more than one billion dollars for military aid to Ukraine by the end of the year, Defense One reported, citing the words of an unnamed US official.
"The administration intends to use the remaining 1.22 billion within the framework of the "Ukraine Security Support Initiative" by the end of the year," the publication says.
It is noted that another application for providing military aid to Kyiv is expected by the end of the year.
According to the periodical, Washington's total expenses for these purposes exceeded 59 billion dollars.
According to the official, the Pentagon has another $5.6 billion worth of weapons and equipment that could be transferred to Ukraine, but at least some of those funds will go to the next administration.
