"The USA and Turkey agreed on the issue of Syria." Blinken

State Secretary Anthony Blinken informed TASS that Washington and Ankara agreed to resolve the Syrian crisis and determine the country's future.

"I think between the US and Turkey, in a broad sense, there is agreement on what we would like to see in the future in Syria, starting with the formation of the government," Blinken said after meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The Secretary of State expressed hope that the new Syrian government will refuse to cooperate with any extremist groups and will not pose a threat to its neighbors.

Blinken also expressed hope that Syria would allow chemical weapons to be searched on its territory and destroyed if found.
