The G7 will "fully support" the Syrian government

The G7 statement states that the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain, and the USA are ready to support the transition of an "inclusive" government in Syria.

"We are ready to support a transition process that will lead to credible and inclusive governance that guarantees respect for the rule of law, human rights, including women's rights, and the protection of all Syrians," the statement said.

"The G7 will work with and fully support the future government of Syria that meets those standards and the results of that process," the statement said.

The G7 leaders also called on all parties to "maintain Syria's territorial integrity and national unity and respect its independence and sovereignty."
