Europe got cold, and November was the hottest in the world this year

BBC reports that 2024 will not only be the hottest year on record but also the first year to exceed the 1.5°C warming limit.

On Monday, the European Union's Copernicus Climate Center (C3S) reported that November was the second warmest on record after November last year. "It is now safe to say that 2024 will be the hottest year on record," said Samantha Burgess, deputy head of C3S.

While there are new global temperature records, last month did not even make the top ten warmest Novembers in Europe. This caused devastating floods in Spain and drenched much of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and Greece. There were also no strong winds in Europe, and as a result, the energy crisis worsened.
