Commenting on the situation in the Middle Eastern country, the newly elected US President, Donald Trump, announced that the deposed head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, fled the country because he could not get support from Russia.

"Assad is gone. He ran away from his country. His protector, Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, is no longer interested in protecting him," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
