"Real peace has been established." Byramov

Azerbaijan and Armenia have made significant progress in the peace treaty negotiations, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeihun Bayramov announced in Malaya, according to Azerbaijani media.

"After the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, actual peace was established, which opened new opportunities for the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan," he noted.

According to Bayramov, due to direct dialogue, Azerbaijan and Armenia completed the demarcation of part of their borders. In addition, progress was made in drafting the text of the bilateral agreement.

"The regulation on the joint activity of relevant border commissions that came into force recently will ensure the implementation of the next stages of border demarcation works. These achievements show that bilateral direct negotiations are the best way to advance the settlement process," Bayramov said.

He added that despite the progress achieved, there are still unresolved issues regarding normalizing relations.

"Peace and neighborly relations cannot be stable and irreversible if the Armenian constitution questions the recognition of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the implementation of the peace treaty depends on the internal political or legal situation of Armenia.

At this crucial moment, when Azerbaijan and Armenia have a historic opportunity to turn the page of confrontation and establish neighborly relations, all efforts should be directed to complete the normalization of relations based on mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. "Azerbaijan's determination in this matter remains unchanged, and we expect mutual political will and responsibility from Armenia," he said.

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan added that the international community is responsible for not harming the ongoing peace process, refraining from provocative actions and increasing tension. He noted that abolishing the OSCE Minsk Group and related structures is necessary.
