A meeting of the Turkish National Security Council (NSC) was held in Ankara under the chairmanship of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, after which an official message was published, which states:
"Turkey has firmly supported the protection of Syria's territorial integrity and unity and is ready to contribute to this process. Terrorist organizations seeking to take advantage of instability will not be allowed to do so, and all threats to our national security and people will be eliminated."
The declaration emphasizes the importance of upholding international law and UN Security Council resolutions to end Israel's rampant massacres and aggression. It states that Turkey maintains its position on a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
The declaration talks about the importance of taking the necessary measures so that the recent events in Syria do not harm the safety of the lives and property of the civilian population.
The council session discussed the latest situation surrounding the Ukrainian war and the possible influence of international processes on resolving the problem. It was emphasized that the war should be prevented from escalating and an immediate ceasefire and peace should be achieved.
At the meeting, reference was made to regulating Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
"Turkey expects and wishes that the positive developments in the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will lead to the conclusion of a peace agreement, which will be in the interests of all parties in the region," the message says.
