Burbock hinted that it is possible to send German soldiers to Ukraine. BILD

Before today's meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock stated that "an international presence may be required to ensure a ceasefire in Ukraine" and that "only we Europeans can protect peace."

According to Bild, the minister hinted that Germany and other EU countries could send soldiers to Ukraine.

It is the first time a member of the German government has spoken out about what is believed to be part of a peace plan since Donald Trump's inauguration.
