The German media reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Kyiv in the morning.
According to news reports, during his visit to Ukraine's capital, the politician wanted to make it clear that Germany continues to stand by Ukraine in the event of a Russian attack.
"For more than 1,000 days, Ukraine has heroically defended itself against Russia's merciless war of aggression," Scholz said.
During his short visit, he expressed solidarity with the Ukrainians. Scholz vowed that Germany would "remain Ukraine's strongest supporter in Europe" and promised an early supply of weapons.
"At my meeting with President Zelenskiy, I will announce the additional arms supply of 650 million euros to be delivered in December. Ukraine can count on Germany. We say what we do, and we do what they say," stated Scholz.
