The BBC reported to Radar Armenia that at least 6 people were killed as a result of clashes between the supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the police in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
According to the statements of the parties, at least 6 people were killed. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that protesters fatally ran over 4 soldiers with their cars.
The supporters of the former prime minister announced that 2 of them were killed and 30 were injured. According to them, one of the victims was shot, and the other was crushed by a car.
Thousands of supporters of Imran Khan gathered in Islamabad, demanding the release of the 72-year-old former prime minister, who was convicted on corruption charges last year. Protesters wanted to gather in the central square of Islamabad, but the authorities blocked the main streets and roads with sea trucks, creating barricades. Soldiers and police officers from all over the country were brought to the capital.
During the clashes, the police used tear gas and rubber bullets against the protesters.
