U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that despite the steps Israel must take to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, "the best way to fully meet the needs of the people" between that country and Hamas is to "end the war," Blinken noted is that "Hamas must stop the war."
After the meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels, the diplomat said in a conversation with journalists. "Israel has achieved its goals," he said, adding that the Middle Eastern country has the right to ensure that the attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023, are not repeated, and called on both sides, especially Hamas, to stop hostilities: operations, release, and exchange of prisoners.
In addition, Blinken said that it is necessary to create conditions for Israel to leave the Gaza Strip without the return of Hamas.
