German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has yet to rule out raising the question of confidence in his government in the Bundestag before Christmas. However, he initially planned to hold it in mid-January 2025. Scholz announced this in a conversation with the German TV channel ARD.
"There is no problem for me to raise the issue of the government's trust before Christmas if everyone wants that," he said.
"I directly declare that if the parliament, members of the government and the opposition, and especially the democratic parties, agree, I will proceed from these realities," he said.
