German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron spoke on the phone to discuss the possibility of former US President Donald Trump returning to the White House.
The head of the German government said that they promised to cooperate even more closely in the future.
"We will work in this new context to create a more united, stronger, and sovereign Europe, in cooperation with the United States and defense of our interests and values," wrote Macron on his "X" page.
It is noteworthy that the two countries' defense ministers will also hold talks today.
