The Wall Street Journal reports that last Saturday, Israel destroyed three of the Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems remaining near Iran during airstrikes against military facilities in Iran.
Three of the four complexes supplied by Russia to Iran were destroyed during that attack; the fourth was killed earlier.
According to the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), one of the S-300 complexes was located near Tehran's airport, and the other two covered energy infrastructure facilities: an oil port, an oil refinery, and a natural gas field.
The S-300 systems in Iran's arsenal were the versions of the modernized complex in the late 90s.
According to analysts, with the loss of the S-300 complexes, many critical Iranian facilities remain unprotected against a missile attack.
