Bill Burns, director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, proposed a 28-day ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip.
According to Reuters, he offered to release about eight hostages from Hamas and dozens of Palestinian prisoners from Israel. Axios reported that Burns discussed the idea in a meeting with his Israeli and Qatari counterparts on Sunday.
