The President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, issued a statement regarding the elections in Georgia, in which he said:
The CE takes note of the OSCE/ODIHR preliminary assessment of the elections.
Calls the CEC and other bodies to investigate all election-related violations and allegations immediately.
Appeals to the leadership of Georgia to reaffirm its commitment to the European course by the conclusions of the European Council meetings in June and October.
Constructive and inclusive dialogue between all political forces is critical from now on.
At the November session, the European Council will assess the current situation and decide on the next steps in relations with Georgia.
