Officials of the United States, Israel, and Qatar have announced that negotiations on a possible cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages will resume in Doha in the coming days.
The press secretary of the Prime Minister of Israel informed that the Israeli delegation will leave for Qatar on Sunday.
Whether Hamas agrees to participate in the talks still needs to be determined.
The US believes the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, considered one of the group's most extremist figures, could pave the way for a deal. However, Hamas accuses Israel of being the main obstacle to any agreement.
"With the end of Sinwar, a real opportunity has been created to return the hostages home and achieve the set goal," said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in a conversation with journalists.
According to Blinken, the goal was to reach an agreement "for Israel to leave, so that Hamas cannot be reborn, and so that the Palestinian people can rebuild their lives and their future."
