Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev stated this in a meeting with Michael Carpenter, the Special Assistant to the US President and Director General of European Affairs of the National Security Council.
"The constitution of Armenia, in which there are demands towards Azerbaijan, is the main obstacle to signing the peace treaty," Aliyev said.
In turn, Carpenter thanked for the reception and noted that the US supports the early signing of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Under the current conditions, there are historical opportunities for this," said Carpenter, noting that the signing of the agreement will create significant opportunities for regional cooperation.
