US President Joe Biden announced that he had ordered US Special Operations personnel and intelligence specialists to work side-by-side with their Israeli counterparts to find Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and other Hamas leaders.
"DNA tests have confirmed that Sinwar is dead. This is a good day for Israel, the United States, and the world. As the leader of the terrorist group Hamas, Sinwar is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, and citizens of more than 30 countries. He was the mastermind of the October 7 massacre, rape and kidnapping. It was on his orders that Hamas terrorists invaded Israel to kill civilians with deliberate and unspeakable cruelty," Biden said, according to the White House.
According to him, the Israel Defense Forces, with the help of the US intelligence service, relentlessly pursued the leaders of Hamas, pushing them out of hiding and forcing them to flee.
"The leaders of Hamas live and move through hundreds of miles of tunnels that are several stories underground. They decided to protect themselves in this way, but this day once again proves that no terrorist in the world will be able to avoid justice," said the US President.
Biden compared this killing with the killing of Osama bin Laden in 2011 and noted that Israel has every right to eliminate the leadership and military structure of Hamas.
"I will soon be speaking with Prime Minister Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders to congratulate them, discuss ways to return the hostages to their families, and end this war once and for all. There is now a chance for a "tomorrow" in Gaza without Hamas rule and a political settlement that will provide a better future for both Israelis and Palestinians. Yahya Sinwar was an insurmountable obstacle to achieving all these goals. This obstacle no longer exists. But we still have a lot of work to do," said Biden.
