Kyiv is ready for a ceasefire without recognizing new borders in exchange for security guarantees from the US and EU membership. Corriere della Sera newspaper notes that during the European tour, which includes Paris, Rome, and Berlin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wants to receive guarantees from the EU and the USA.
"Zelensky's activity proves the claim that the time has come to look for ways out of the conflict that will not bring Ukraine to its knees. In September, Ukraine lost the largest territories since the beginning of the conflict. At the same time, Ukrainian forces in Kursk are trapped by Russia and unable to deliver aid to Donbas, where Russian forces greatly outnumber Ukrainian forces. Zelensky must convince the Europeans and present his political plan. He cannot officially relinquish territories; it is too much for any Ukrainian figure. But he is ready to establish a ceasefire along the current front line without the recognition of new borders and in exchange for Western guarantees," the newspaper writes.
It should be noted that Zelensky will meet with the Pope during his visit to Rome.
