"The deployment of the EU mission at the border aggravates the situation." Head of the General Staff of Azerbaijan

The deployment of the EU mission on Armenian territory aggravates the situation at the border, Chief of the General Staff of Azerbaijan Kerim Veliyev said at a meeting with the General Director of the International Military Staff of NATO, Lieutenant General Janush Adamchak, who is visiting Azerbaijan.

The Chief of the General Staff especially emphasized that the deployment of the EU observation mission on the conventional border in the territory of Armenia, as well as the arming of Armenia by some countries outside the region, in particular France, led to the activation of revanchist forces in Armenia, created obstacles on the way to the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and hindered the peace process, aggravating the situation in the South Caucasus.

It should be noted that the General Director of the International Military Staff of NATO also visited Armenia a few days ago and met with the General Staff of the Armed Forces Chief, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan.
