Azerbaijani MPs appealed to Bayramov with a request to break agreements with the USA and suspend USAID projects. Sahiba Gafarova, the speaker of the Milli Majlis, said:
"Azerbaijan conducts an independent domestic and foreign policy and has ensured its territorial integrity and sovereignty with its forces. Let me remind you of President Ilham Aliyev's statement: no one can dictate anything to us and interfere in our internal affairs," Gaafarova said.
