The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for the machine learning work of neural networks

In 2024, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to the American scientist John Hopfield, a Princeton University professor who in 1982 discovered the associative neural network, and the British Geoffrey Hinton, a professor at the University of Toronto.

Hopfield created an associative neural network that can store and retrieve different types of images in data. Hinton discovered a method that allows you to independently find features in data and identify some aspects in images.
