The new Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.
This is Rutte's first official visit to Ukraine after becoming Secretary General. The head of the alliance met with President Vladimir Zelensky. The parties held negotiations and a press conference for journalists.
It should be noted that on October 1, the ceremony of transferring the powers of the alliance secretary-general took place at NATO headquarters. All 32 NATO member states agreed upon Mark Rutte's candidacy for this position. Rutte served as the Netherlands's Prime Minister for almost 14 years.
