"Ukraine should get a place in the alliance." Secretary General of NATO

The newly appointed Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, announced that Ukraine will be the main issue on his list of priorities.

Rutte said this in Brussels before the acceptance ceremony at the NATO headquarters.

"One of the other priorities is the containment and defense of the alliance. We need to spend more; we need to increase our collective defense. The only thing that will not change is the key mission of NATO, that is, the protection of our peoples, our states, and, of course, our values," said Rutte.
